“Because we are stronger together.”
Group Therapy
You may feel like you the only one struggling, but you are not. It can be a relief to hear others discuss what they're going through, and realize you're not alone. Group therapy is not the same as support groups although there are some similarities. Support groups, similar to therapeutic groups, have a particular theme , such as parents with special needs children or men’s divorce group. However, therapeutic groups are aimed to help members change while support groups are aimed to help members cope. A group is like a small social lab where you can experiment. Mistakes are allowed!
I currently run therapeutic groups addressing men’s issues , young adults with special needs and social skills/social anxiety. However, I will be adding additional groups based on need and availability.
Group Therapy Might be useful to individuals who:
Want to feel more connected with others and in touch with themselves
Need support identifying and communicating their needs and boundaries
Experience a general sense of loneliness or isolation
Struggling with relationships
Need help recognizing and expressing their emotions with more flexibility and skills
What will you get out of group therapy?
Get support and explore your struggles
Connect with others and feel less alone
Learn communication and coping skills
Strengthen your relationships
Identify and address your feelings
Practice real-life skills
